Cheap easy fixes for the home

I am all about doing a huge transformation on a shoe string budget. Take for instance my living room, I ripped out the bar,  I painted the walls white ( a gazillion coats) and sanded the floors( Home depot rental less than $100.)

I have been busy transforming my kitchen cabinets, I hated the maple look, but was quoted $2500 by the pros... WHAT!!!! No way, I researched my beloved Annie Sloan paint and after 18 months decided to tackle it. I decided I wanted 2 tone, pure white on the top cabinets and 4-1 ratio of old white and duck egg blue on the bottom, I love it ! Here are a few sneak peek pics, I will blog more about it when i have finished hanging the pot rack, and crystal chandelier. I also left off some doors for the open shelf look.. I am so proud of myself and so glad i did it ! Try it !

Snowdays and Hot Chocolate

How is everyone recovered from the Holidays? It has taken me a good few weeks but my next projects are about to start, re-doing a bathroom and painting my kitchen cabinets.   I want to be finished up in the next few weeks as i have some outdoor painting to start once the weather warms up.  I do like a snow day and what better way  to enjoy one than setting up a  hot cocoa station in your kitchen. Here's what i did. Lots of yummy toppings, and different types of cocoa. perfect for when visitors come  !

Enjoy the snowflakes bloggers, spring is around the corner !!
